    Real help for struggling Ohio homeowners is now available through the new FHA streamline refinance program.

    Chuck Gara, a strong leader for business and real estate died at the age of 85 on May 3rd

    Gara founded the chaired Citizens for Greater Albuquerque, pro-business group that opposed the city’s planned-growth patterns and ran against City Council candidates in 2003. The action let to clashes against Albuquerque councilors who unsuccessfully tried to remove Gara from the city’s Planned Growth Strategy. In 2007, Gara was awarded Leader of the Year Award for organization as a chairman of that year.

    Gara’s wife of 45 years, Margie, said the two were highschool sweethearts. They had two daughters, Denise Gara and Amy Banks, and two grandchildren.

    Gara successfully battled cancer in 1986, but long-term effects from radiation and chemotherapy damaged his heart and lungs, Margie Gara said. He never let things get him down, she said.

  • San Francisco, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/28/2013 -- The National Association of Realty announced last week that sales advanced .06 percent, roughly up to 4.97 million units sold. This is the highest since November of 2009.

    Home resales (sales on existing homes) were 9.7 percent higher than in the same quarter of last year. Bank of America senior economist Michelle Mayor says that this increase in housing sales indicates that the overall economy is improving. While it doesn’t solve all the problems, it’s a cushion for the other financial problems in the country.

    In April, the median home sales price rose 11 percent from a year ago to 192,800. This is the highest level of median home sales since August of 2008. April is also the fifth consecutive month of double digit gains in average home sales.

    However, economic activity has slowed down somewhat at the start of the second quarter, mainly due to the effects of new taxes and government spending cuts that have started filtering through to the citizens of America.

    Hopefully, since the housing market hasn’t been too affected by taxes and spending cuts, the gains in home values will boost the confidence of consumers and continue sales throughout the industry.

    Housing recovery is also spreading to home building, boosting construction employment.
